Agents Lied. Then sent to collections

Short version: I went a few months ago and had a good massage. signed up for a membership being told I could cancel anytime. I then canceled only to be to do couldn’t and was locked into a year contract. I went in to speak to a manager but one wasn’t in so they told me to come the next day. Came the next day but “they were at lunch and would call me back”. Never got a call back and now I get a letter from a debt collector.

I would have never signed up for something that locked me into a contract. Thinking the initial term was questionable in the contract, I asked specifically if I could cancel … Read More

Worst Company Ever, Need An Oregon Class Action Lawsuit

I was given a gift for Christmas from Massage Envy which I ended up keeping for 2 years. At the end of the two years the credit card that the monthly payment was being charged to which was my girlfriends had expired and I told her that I would just call and cancel the membership since the massages were horrible anyways. So I called the Cedar Hills Location since that was the closest to my house and they told me that I had to call the Tualatin location. I called the Tualatin location and they told me that I had to drive from my house in Aloha Oregon all the way to Tualatin to cancel my membership and that I … Read More

freezing- feeling the client you mean!

So I signed a contract back in july, then had an emergency where I wasn’t going to be able to pay the first month. I called and spoke to an employee about freezing my account. She told me it was no problem, so I assumed that it was taken care of. Almost three months later I received a letter from a collection agency for past due amounts. When I called and spoke to the owner, she claimed they couldn’t freeze my account because I hadn’t made a payment. She also claimed they had called me numerous times, but I checked my call log and only had one missed call from them that I never realized was from them! Now they … Read More

Im in collections

I paid for a years worth of services that I never used. I kept getting charged because I guess I’m on some auto-month to month crap. The credit card they had expired so they started calling and calling, I finally answered and the lady tried to get me to update my credit card info. I told her no and that I wanted to cancel, she said someone would call me back, they didn’t. Ive got more important things to do so I forgot about all about it, they were not able to charge me anymore and I paid my 1 year “contract” term plus they got about 1000 dollars in unused services so I figured thats a pretty good deal … Read More

Massage Envy Employee threatens me!

I was threatened today by Kristen and employee at the Hulen Street location in Fort Worth, TX, that Massage Envy would have a collection agency after me if I didn’t pay the back payments that my credit card would not okay since I had told my credit card company I wanted to cancel my subscription but no one would call me back and to cancel the automatic charges to my account. I tried to stop my membership the month after I signed up for the membership because I received a TERRIBLE massage from a novice and when I complained about the masseuse I was told that I had to pay or be charged for the service whether I was pleased … Read More

So you want to cancel?

Well you’re in luck! You can cancel your Massage Envy membership and it’s pretty easy.
First, if you’re out of the initial term you were conned into you can simply fill out their cancelation form and email, fax or drop it off. It is against their policies to force you to bring in a physical copy, simply reference their business policies and you’ll probably get an email address. You may also want to copy corporate at info@massageenvy.com, this ensures that the independently owned franchise doesn’t “lose the paperwork”. Don’t have or can’t get a form? No problem, you contract specifically states you just have to notify them to cancel the account and the form isn’t necessary. Again this can be … Read More

I Hate This Company!

When I signed up for Massage Envy in Boulder, CO., I was assured by the rep at the counter that I could “cancel anytime” which was a flat-out LIE. I was told later that I had been put on a year-long massage plan that I didn’t want. I tried to cancel and now they’re telling me that I can’t until my husband and I both pay for another five months of crappy service. It’s impossible to get a massage because there are never any open appointments. They keep telling me I have no choice but to keep paying, and yet they won’t help me access their service.

I know how the game works. I worked it.

I worked as a FDA for a very busy and understaffed clinic. Let me just start off saying that in theory the program seems great. People can pay 60 bucks a month for a massage or facial and if there are chronic problems then the program would really help people and it has. However, sometimes I wonder with the amount of people we have helped, how many more have suffered? How many more have come to Massage Envy looking to relax and left more stressed out then when they first entered the clinic?

I tried to quit about 4 months into the job because the therapists were cruel to us and management seemed to not be doing their jobs. I … Read More
