A former massage therapist of multiple franchised clinics alleges various violations of the California wage and hour laws. The plaintiff seeks to represent a class of all massage therapist and estheticians who worked at any Massage Envy franchisee in California since August 12, 2009.
Update 1/6/15:
Judge Roger T. Benitez granted motion for summary judgment in favor of defendant Massage Envy Franchising LLC finding that “MEF was not an employer or joint employer of Mr. Vann, and therefore, cannot be liabile for any wage violations committed by (Franchise Owner).
This case is effectively closed unless appealed. Copy of motion attached.
