Terminated for Reporting Sexual Assault Against Me

Was employed at the Massage Envy La Mirada, CA location for 6 months. Nicest owners, not so nice were the other supervisors. I was sexually assaulted. Reported it to them, truthfully; and according to their standards, “not immediately enough”. And thus was terminated for reporting it not soon enough. This is evil. This really happened. This violator, a truly deceptive man with a real sexual problem as I came to discover only too late, had come off (maybe a ruse?) as a decent, nice, fairly regular client for about 2 months with whom there had been no issues. When he finally did give me a problem to report, I had tried to find a manager. None on duty, they were … Read More

Only worked there two weeks;

I had been unemployed and actively seeking employment for about five months after a recent cross-country military move. This was the first place that called me and I really shouldn’t have accepted the position.

Minimum wage starting pay is insulting. I guess it goes up a dollar after training, but that’s still a joke. Paycheck really depends on commission. Unpaid computer training done at home prior to starting, which I’m sure is against some labor law. I also didn’t need to take a drug test beforehand. The only person who cared about my training was the manager that hired me, and she left a week later due to a cross-country move. SUPER HIGH TURNOVER. Hours were all over the place, … Read More

both therapists and clients stay away

I worked at massage envy on lake mead and basic in Henderson Nv. Definitely stay away. The owners and management encourage therapists to ignore contraindications (health issues) on clients after getting quite a few clients there with health issues i brought it up to the manager. She told me in the room you do whatever the client what’s they signed the contract so they can’t sue us. So i brought it up to the owners they threatened not only to fire me but blacklist me from ever working in massage agian. Honestly as a therapist i will do whatever is my power to make a client feel better as long as it doesn’t put their health at risk. The fact … Read More

A company that could care less

I worked for Massage Envy almost 7 years (at different locations) and the last one for over 5 years. If you want to make a living as a massage therapist (not a masseuse, thank you) will have to work over 35 hours a week and I guarantee your body will not hold up long working that many hours a week! The front desk and management are beyond clueless. They are hardly ever there and can never answer any questions. They thrive off of intimidation and empty threats to keep you from leaving. You get no vacation and the so called benefits (which they have to offer now) are only good if you work 30+ hours a week…….good luck, you are … Read More

Confidentiality?

As a receptionist for this company I felt like I was constantly breaking confidentiality with clients by doing intakes for the therapists. The are the trained professionals and have the training to do so. Also, it made me very uncomfortable when asked to read the therapists notes about the session in order to come up with something else to sell to them… Could they be any greedier? Maybe for once just give a crap about the clients and stop thinking they are an endless flow of money. Their health and well being might just be a little more important. Just maybe.

Just give it up

I used to work for this company. Not sure if I would call this place a clinic. Its more like the city dump. With a toilet bowl that will not flush. Working here for me was like being stuck in a constipated rectum. The managers and owners do not care about the employees or clients. They are a money hungry corporation after only the dollars in your pocket.

Don’t go there

I was A former employee for massage envy. The clinic administrators don’t care. The one in particular that I work for her name was Dyna. She was very short and nasty with the customers. Talked about the employees behind their back. Clearly unprofessional. I was written up before because a therapist said that I had an attitude with them. When asked who the therapist was so I could right my wrong she then said she couldn’t disclose that information (mind you I had only been working there for a month and only said hi and bye to everyone so I honestly had no idea who it was but felt bad) but Dyna kept on she would make comments and say … Read More

Awful Everything

I worked for ME for 2 years. Promoted to assistant manager within the first year. Everything was fine until I started to realize how the company REALLY works. If youre not BFFS with the boss then you get lower raises, less opportunities within the company, and if another employees dislikes you for something personal and unrelated to work then they fire you.

I worked directly with the memberships and billing, mostly in collections. They made me call these lists on the daily and harass our members about missed payments (even those that had missed by a day due to credit card issues). Made me threaten each member with a collections agency if they didn’t pay up immediately. Just lost your … Read More

I work here

I work at Massage Envy as a front desk associate. The things I’ve seen go on or have been forced to be apart of in order to keep my job are repulsive. The managers do not give one shit about the clients. They just care about numbers, sales and good reviews. Personally if I didn’t need this job I would never set foot near a message envy in my life. It’s a terribly ruin business all around. I just wanted to clarify that us employees are completely aware of the bullshit and terrible service thatvis provided but unfourtantly some of us need these jobs. I’m sorry

do not work here

I have never been to an interview where I had to tell the hiring person about the job. They asked me, “Do you even know what this job requires?” They talked to me like I was stupid, and very disrespectful. Then they bashed Woodhouse which was so rude and inappropriate. I told them my mother was a massage therapist there and they still proceeded to bash it. I was very shocked at how unprofessional everyone looked and dressed, their style was horrible, and it was literally one of the worst interviews I have ever had. The hiring assistant should be fired because she made me very uncomfortable, and I do not reccommend anyone go to massage envy!
